How do you get ready for an important match that is over three hours away? All the stress is building up knowing that his match can lead to so much. Your mind starts thinking on itself and hands start to get sweaty. All you have to do is breathe and drink water because you are about to sit on a bus for three hours and it's very early. You also have to make sure that you are up and not hungry. There is a lot of things you have to go before a match such as prepare with the right equipment, get into the right state of mind and last but not least winning the warmup.
These types of games involve a long time sitting on a bus for hours early in the morning. The biggest challenge is the fact that you have to be awake in the morning and ready to cancel all of the thoughts that come to your head. You have to get to bed early and wake up on time, take a shower and make sure you have everything; extra clothes, tennis shoes, all of your medical tapes and braces (if needed), water, towels, and most importantly your tennis racket. You need all of those things and you need to make sure that you ate enough to be fueled for your first match.
Next up is staying focused on the big match. Your mind is going to want to play tricks on you and make you nervous but you got to shake all of that off and get hype. On the bus ride, you need to be discussing the game plan, listening to music and moving around to stay loose. You need to get rid of all the tired thoughts you have and stay up otherwise you will wake up even more tired then you were before. Being in the right mindset may vary from person to person but most people like to listen to music and think about how they will execute there plan which is a victory.
The warmup is mandatory in tennis because if you don't then there goes your season due to a pulled muscle or an ankle injury. Tennis requires a lot of quick actions and a lot of swing force that can injure you very quick. The dynamic workout gets the blood flowing, a quick jog followed my some moving muscle loosening stretches. Those will get you warmed up but the staic stretches will get the vital muscles to open up, this will also release endorphins to calm you down and dial you in. Then you grab your racket and get swinging, up on your toes with nice and easy swings to get the groove. As you move on in you can swing faster move your feet more and more. Serves are the most dangerous if you don't take your time and start slow because if you don't you will easily blow out your shoulder. After all of this, you get ten minutes to warm up with your opponent.
All you got in ten minutes to figure out the other player's weaknesses and strengths. Most players having all ready warming up as a team want to slap the ball but taking it slow makes it easier to analyze the player and what his favorite shot is or how quick he is. this will help you later in the game and make you be prepared. After the ten minutes is up, you spin the racket and its game on.
Tennis is a stressful game at times like when you have to wake up early and sit on a bus for hours at a time just waiting to arrive at the court and play. You have to keep yourself prepared for days in advance and make sure that you have what it takes to fight. You have to "stay liquid" at all times.
